Brit made # 2 at Ford

Ford of Europe’s British boss, Lewis Booth, would be to dominate as Ford’s chief financial officer following a retirement of Don Leclair, effectively becoming the firm’s global second-in-command. The move also makes Booth probably the most highly placed Brit within the global Ford organisation and that he has been given the job of the tough job of having the organization back on the firm financial footing after punishing losses in The United States.

Booth would not be attracted on precisely what measures he’s intending to put in place, but accepted to Autocar it had become likely to be a difficult job in the present climate.

Booth was selected to do the job becuase of his success at turning round Ford of Europe and Mazda he’s sometimes known for his product understanding and the financial ability. An insider stated: “Because of the condition we are in, Lewis may be the right man to get it sorted out.Inch

“We are embracing Lewis to use his extensive operational and financial experience to operate even closer with this operating teams all over the world,Inches stated Ford boss Alan Mullaly, “as we accelerate the transition to the One Ford vision and, along the way, transforming Ford right into a lean global enterprise and coming back the organization to sustainable profitability.”

Booth’s new role does mean the current Chief executive officer of Ford of Europe and fellow Brit, John Fleming, succeeds him. Which means that Fleming now also offers overall responsibility of Volvo.
