Mercedes-Benz intends to boost the creation of the SL63 AMG’s twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 direct injection gas engine from the standard 529bhp to 577bhp from June, the German vehicle maker has revealed.

With a brand new creation of 577bhp, the SL63 AMG will pack 48bhp greater than today’s standard model and 21bhp greater than the present SL63 AMG using the optional performance package.

Along with the rise in reserves, the SL63 AMG may also get a mechanical locking differential as standard equipment.

The move follows the development of the SL400, a substitute for that Mercedes-Benz SL350 introduced included in a number of subtle changes introduced towards the SL line-up. The move belongs to an offer to stir sales of these two-year-old luxury roadster.

The SL400 is operated by Mercedes-Benz’s twin-turbocharged 3.-litre V6 direct injection gas engine, travelling to the brand new E400 early this past year. With 328bhp and 354lb foot of torque, it delivers 26bhp and 81lb greater than the naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 direct-injection gas unit utilized by the SL350.

Despite the look of a brand new nine-speed automatic gear box on selected new Mercedes-Benz models, the brand new SL400 runs the attempted and tested seven-speed automatic. Official performance claims provide a -62mph duration of 5.2sec – beating the SL350 by .7sec – as well as an digitally limited 155mph top speed.
